Hey gang! At the Region Duals South Defeated Grayson by a score of 58 to 19, defeating all of their wrestlers. but 3 and advancing to the Finals for a War...if you will, vs Brookwood that went down to the last 2 matches. This was a great Dual Meet with two teams that are evenly matched! The Finals was Epic and exciting! South fell short to Brookwood by a score of 36 to 28 and finished in 2nd Place. South will have a great opportunity to avenge this Region Duals Title by winning the Region Traditional Title on 2/6/21. The guys went out their blazing vs Brookwood. The Comets wrestled well they had the lead for a while, in a battle in which the lead continued changing hands. Little things hurt us such as a couple of guys not making weight. We had to give them 12 points in forfeits. Take those 12 points away and look what the score would have been. This is a good team with good coaches. I would like to thank Coach Mahoney and Coach Adderley they are doing a fantastic job as coaches.
Also, I would like to thank Ms. Jarrett and Ms. Haynes for coming out and showing their support.
By finishing 2nd at the Region Duals the Comets advance to the Playoffs and have Tift Co. in the First Round on 1/23/21. It is Win or Go Home! If the Comets win, they will take on Newnan. If they defeat Newnan they will advance to the State Duals Championship Round.
