On a recent report on the ncaa.org website, “College Sports coming back in the fall”. The NCAA Board of Governors had conferences with their directed schools and had finally come to an agreement.
“Specific requirements are to be met if the NCAA fall sports are going to conduct a preseason and a regular season and a postseason for all fall sports.” From ncaa.org website.
Not, only are they conducting a plan and requirements for the athletes to go back into training this coming September, but they are also establishing a set game roster and game schedule. The board did indeed express some major concerns about the increasingly high levels of COVID-19. To no avail, the board will move on with their postseason play, but will only add strict conditions to the game plan.
One of the new requirements includes a “return-to-sport” guideline.” All athletes are required to thoroughly read and understand the requirements in order to stay on the roster and play in the games. Another requirement would be for the NCAA to establish a phone number and email to allow college players to report recent cases. The Association will notify the school and will be expected to take immediate action. All members will have to adhere to the local guidelines of COVID-19 “prevention and treatment”.
Well, there's a chance for everything ”to happen this year””. Just not fall season for the NCAA. Just yesterday, Monday, August 31st “Big Ten presidents have voted 11-3 to postpone the fall season and the league confirmed that until COVID-19 cases have decreased exponentially then fall season of any sport included in the NCAA will be on a temporary absence,”quoted”from the espn.com website.
